Pentesting Project: Application Security and Penetration Testing
Project Overview
This fictitious pentesting project was developed as part of my coursework in cybersecurity, which I pursued alongside my bachelor in Applied Computer Sciences – Application Development at Thomas More. The course focused on application security, with an emphasis on understanding how to both exploit and defend against vulnerabilities. The aim of this project was to apply my knowledge of penetration testing (pentesting) to assess the security of a specific application.
Project Objectives
- Identify Vulnerabilities: Perform in-depth analysis to uncover potential security issues within the application.
- Security Assessment: Document the types of vulnerabilities discovered, their severity, and the potential impact on the application.
- Defensive Strategies: Provide recommendations and solutions to mitigate the risks associated with the identified vulnerabilities.
Documentation
The project includes a comprehensive pentesting report that outlines all my findings and the security issues I tested for. This documentation details the vulnerabilities discovered, methods used for testing, and suggested fixes.

Conclusion
This project helped me better understand the security landscape of web and mobile applications, honing my skills in pentesting and application security. It reinforced my ability to not only find and exploit vulnerabilities but also to develop strategies to defend against potential attacks.
